Our Education Welfare Officer

Our Education Welfare Officer is Dionne Reeve. She works as part of the Education Welfare Service.

The Education Welfare Service provides a social work service at Fairisle Junior School to try and raise attendance. They want our children to make the best of all the opportunities they have. They use different methods of finding out what is causing a young person not to attend school. This could be anything from social to emotional and motivational issues.

The Education Welfare Service, run by Southampton City Council, supports our school and offers advice and guidance. Their main client is the child, but also work with families and professionals.

They have a statutory duty to promote the attendance of children in the city and can use legal means to make this happen if needed.
